A branch from which a multitude of eyes blossom brings to mind the figure of Saint Lucy and the depiction of her by the Quattrocento painter Francesco del Cossa. The saint is depicted with a plant-like stem bearing her own eyes. The Panoptes brooch, by its materiality and its dimensions, takes up the motif of vision as a precious object.
